Whatever happened to colleges and universities hiring professors who actually had practical experience in the fields that they taught?
I see more and more ‘professors’ who went to college straight out of high school; got their masters directly after obtaining their undergraduate degree; and then went on to get their PhD thereafter. They have absolutely no experience in the fields they teach and yet college administrators hire them to teach.
I think this is completely wrong because now we basically have novices ‘teaching’ and people paying exorbitant tuition for less than professional training. This would be like letting middle school students teach elementary school and high school students teach middle school.
But unless people speak up and quit allowing this practice, it will continue and create generations of people who have paid out large sums of money only to receive substandard training and therefore be unable to secure jobs that will warrant the money spent.
