I was making homemade apple 1/4 pies when a thought came to me as is expected when baking desserts.
The thought that came to me was on the subject of evolution and here it is.
The theory of evolution states that plants and animals evolved and diversified to provide the greatest chance for the species to survive.
Eons ago a very primitive one or two celled creature slithered out of a chemical sludge and somehow that creature multiplied resulting in one of its offspring becoming a plant and the other, animal.
Eons more pass and finally earth has a multitude of species to include apes; all the while only the most adept species surviving the evolution. Those who have predators have developed characteristics to evade and escape their attackers. Hippos developed thick hide and the ability to stay submerged under water for long periods of time to escape land predators. Apes and monkeys were able to climb trees and cliffs to escape other predators. Other prey had the ability to burrow out of sight and reach or developed muscles that give them the ability to outrun their predators. The preys’ offspring developed where most could flee their attackers within moments of birth, or blend into the surroundings without sound or scent.
All is well with the evolution of planet earth.
Then, one dang monkey evolved into a human and threw the whole evolution thing completely off kilter. The human couldn’t flee as well as the antelope, couldn’t climb trees like the monkeys, and couldn’t stay submerged under water for long periods of time. The offspring were totally dependent upon the parents for years and had no defenses to the predators like knowing to lie quiet and still in the presence of a predator, the ability to flee on their own, or be born without a scent. In the evolution of creatures, how did this species emerge when consecutive species are supposed to be more adapt to survival than the previous?
Then centuries or a millennium or two later the humans invented tools for defense and becoming the predator to some other species and have the ability to defend themselves. But how did these humans who were not an improvement over the previous creatures survive hundreds or thousands of years without becoming extinct?
So, where in the theory of evolution is regression covered to create an inferior species and allow them to survive even without defenses?
Finally, we also have the question of with the one regressive species (man), why did none of the other species evolve to be able to create tools to the same extent?
