Did you know that the Bible, Torah, Quran, etc. can be taught in public schools as long as it is taught in the manner of a literature or history course? Now comes the question, if a school offers classes in the Torah for example, would they also have to offer courses in the Bible, Quran, Pali Canon, etc.? Another question would be why aren’t religious studies offered at public schools before the collegiate level?
Did you know that Congress can pass laws that interfere with religious beliefs as long as they make it applicable to everyone? So, if the law was passed that no one can wear any clothing in public that prevents identification by facial features, the burka would become illegal to wear outside the house.
Did you know that teachers cannot wear religious garb in public schools? You cannot discriminate a teaching candidate on religious beliefs but once hired you can prevent them from wearing the clothing at public schools. This would include Hijabs, Yakamas, or any other outer garment that identifies a person’s religious beliefs.
