I woke up this morning to a light snow falling outside. It is just enough to highlight horizontal planes with a light coating of white, but not enough to obliterate the brown, dormant grass. A momentary thought that this might stick around for Christmas flashed through my mind even though I know it won’t.
For some reason, Christmas time is depressing for some. Whether it is because they aren’t with loved ones; don’t have the funds to buy gifts; or because daytime is so short at this time of year; I don’t know.
I do know that Christmas is not about the gifts you give, but about the gift you already received. If you can’t be with your loved ones, think about helping out at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. The people you serve will show you as genuine love and appreciation as you would get at home.
If it is the shortened day, spend time with others in well lit venues and let others know that you are blue.
So my thought for today is: Don’t live within yourself, there are those outside you that need caring and cheer. ~ ME
