Bernie Sanders wants Medicare for all. Let’s take a peek at that.
http://www.berniesanders.com validates what his plan is, but is it feasible?
In 2014 the federal budget for all programs was $3.8 Trillion.
There were 44,100,000 Medicare participants.
The total cost to TAXPAYERS was 597 Billion dollars.
That would be $13,537.41 per Medicare recipient.
Using that information, at the beginning of 2015:
There were 320 million Americans.
320 million X $13,537.41 equals $4,331,972,789,116 and change.
That is more than the total federal budget in 2015.
Once again, it will be the taxpayers that will have to pay for it.
All figures for this post for Medicare costs, recipients, and population were obtained from The Bureau of Labor and Statistics (federal entity).
Even if we maintained the federal budget for everything else at $3.8 Trillion, adding another $4.3 Trillion more than doubles the burden on each TAXPAYER.
Can you afford doubling of your tax burden; I know I can’t.
