Years ago, I said that people have become so used to instant gratification that it becomes expected. The proof of this is staring us right in the face.
Sanders AND Clinton get a lot of their support by telling people there will be a universal healthcare in America. I discussed this a few days ago and the numbers show it will cost the taxpayers over four trillion dollars. People think about ‘free’ healthcare and don’t think about what it will cost them. For one person it was $1,500+ per year more in taxes. A family of four, $6,000+. This is at a minimum; those who don’t have a job will be carried on the back of the ones who work.
Another factor that endears Sanders to young people is the idea of ‘free’ college for all. Someone still has to pay for it (teacher’s salaries, utilities, administrators and maintenance people, etc.). Then, once you have graduated, you are going to be taxed for the rest of your life to keep paying for other people’s education. I previously addressed this too but cannot remember what it would cost each taxpayer. The total was around $38 Billion dollars.
As long as you don’t consider the cost of what you want for ‘FREE’, it all sounds good, but a moment of thought should be enough to shake a sane person back to reality.
