The Pope said anyone who builds fences instead of bridges is not Christian. This statement was aimed at Donald Trump, but it got me to thinking.
As far as the issue between America and Mexico:
- The president of Mexico said the issue of illegal immigration was a problem of American, not Mexico. Is this building a wall or building bridges?
- The president of Mexico said the issue of illegal drugs entering America is an American problem, not theirs. Is this building a wall or building bridges?
Illegal entry of people and drugs from Mexico has been an issue for a long time. Since Mexico does not want to address drug cartels and illegal immigration, America has to do something.
The Pope lives in a walled in city/state where people are given access to certain parts to visit but must leave at the end of the day. Other parts have guards to restrict access, and once again if not an invited guest, you have to leave at the end of the day. If people started building homes in St. Peter’s Square or took up residence in the Basilica, you know as well as I they would be evicted. So, is the Catholic Church building walls or bridges?
