Today for many Christians is Good Friday, the day that Jesus became the Passover for mankind. There are those who do not realize the correlation between the Passover of the Old Testament and the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In the Old Testament, Moses was trying to free the Israelites from the Pharaoh. After many plagues, God sent the angel of death to take the first born child. He told Moses to have the Israelites mark their doorways with the blood of a lamb and those who did would not lose their first born. It was this act of God that freed the people of Israel from the Pharaoh.
In the New Testament, God was showing mercy on his children by allowing the lamb, Jesus, to be crucified and through His blood we are given eternal life and spared by the angel of death.
Good Friday is not called ‘good’ because Jesus died, but because He gave the gift of his life so that we may live. With that in mind, I wish all of you peace and eternal life.
