Thought for Today (3/1/2017)

I watched the Presidential Speech last night and saw a national leader call for unity and inter-party cooperation to make improvements.  I watched as the camera showed the Republicans react positively to his directions and the Democrats refusing.

When he spoke of replacing Obamacare with insurance that allows people to purchase plans interstate which will bring more competition and lower prices, the Republicans applauded and Democrats boo’d and gave him the thumbs down.

When he spoke of increasing the military budget while freezing growth in other areas, the Republicans lauded him and the Democrats sat staunchly by.

When he spoke of updating immigration laws and dealing with those who not only committed a crime by entering America illegally, but also commit crimes while here; the Republicans approved and the Democrats rejected.

When he spoke of rebuilding the infrastructure the Democratic leaders once again balked at approval.

A focus group in the very liberal California was conducted during the speech showed Democrats (not the leadership) saying Trump exceeded their expectations, approved of rebuilding America, and other areas where the Democratic leaders did not.

Between the President and Republicans in congress, all can be accomplished without Democrats approval.  If the Democrats choose to not cooperate to create a better society, does it not show that the leadership of the Democratic party are the problem, not the solution?
