Thought for Today (3/28/2017)

Federal code says that states may implement laws that are more stringent than the code, but not more lenient.  However, when the previous president told different agencies not to enforce certain codes, it set a precedent for states, and even cities, to also ignore federal code.  Examples include:  ‘sanctuary cities’ for criminal illegal immigrants; states that snub their noses at federal drug laws; and cities and counties that set minimum wages that differ from state and federal minimum wages.

In doing so, it has created not harmony, but anarchy, and it will only get worse if not reigned in.  No matter what your opinions are on the aforementioned topics are, when different governments pick and choose which laws they abide by, the result will be anarchy.  Those who choose to defy the common law of the land are doing so to destroy the land, not improve it.
