On the news there is a person running for governor in Iowa. His platform is based on raising the minimum wage. Evidently this person has no idea how a capitalist economy works. Thus, the thought for today:
When applying for jobs, demand what you think you are worth. If you find yourself starving because of lack of work, you have two choices. Either you can continue to starve, or you can reevaluate your worth. The first will lead to your demise and the latter will lead you to survival. ~ ME
This is how economics work; it is all about supply and demand. If you demand more than what the supply calls for, you won’t close the deal. The same is true for wages; if you demand more than what the position calls for, especially when there are others willing to work for the lower wages, you won’t get the job.
